Second Lecture - September 16th 2014

Today I felt like the lecture material was more challenging to comprehend than the material from last week. In particular, I felt like Converse and Contrapositive Implications were a little hard to grasp at first sight. Even though this was the case, I still enjoyed the material that we were presented - especially using symbols and logic as a language to indicate intent and give meaning to an action. I felt like my biggest achievement during the lecture was definitely looking at the first slide again and actually comprehending the symbols that represented "A course is worthy only when it is a prerequisite of some course". Aside from the lecture, I really enjoyed the tutorial this week. I felt like a smaller class where we could participate in specific discussions of questions really helped clarify the questions that I had prior to the tutorial. Also, I felt like the questions were well put together and taught me more than what was presented in the lecture. I thought that the quiz at the end of the tutorial was also fair and a good way of judging our knowledge. Overall, CSC165 has been a good yet intimidating experience thus far.
